Why your Seiko Quartz Watch requires a service
- If your Quartz watch seconds hand is moving two seconds at a time, then this is an indicator that it requires a new battery or a service.
- If your Quartz watch has stopped in under 12 months since having a new battery, then it requires a service, as it will be in "high power mode" using 12 times the normal power, due to requiring cleaning and oiling.
- It's no use blaming the battery; they never fail in a short term and have a shelf life of about 10 years.
- A new battery should last at least 3 years.
